It’s time for the monthly progress report, where on the first Monday of the month, I share where I am with my WIPs aka Work(s)-In-Progress. Let’s dive in, shall we?
I’m still working on another Rebels story. I was going back and forth between the next three Rebels, but after doing some thinking, I've decided to focus on Zane's book. This will allow me to move fast forward in the remaining books, accomplish some things I want to with the timeline, and it'll leave things open to continue the series after the "last" book.
I'm super excited to get to know Zane more. I'm enjoying the premise I've set up for his book. It starts with him having a one-night stand in Vegas that results in a wife. My overall progress since last month isn't much, but it's something. Last month, I'd written about 10% and I'm up to 15% now. Slow and steady, but we're getting it done! I'm not sure when this will release, but maybe in 2024?
I was looking recently at my list of books I've written and when they were published and it's crazy to think now that I, at one point, was releasing anywhere from four to TEN books in a year. I'm hopeful to do one book a year at this point. Oddly enough, I'm 110% okay with that. The pressure to constantly have something in the line-up for releases is gone and I feel like I can truly enjoy my work a little more than before. I feel like all the pressure is gone, actually. Maybe it's because I'm no longer relying on my books for income (or as a sole-source of income). I don't know, but how I feel tackling my writing lately has been liberating and enjoyable!
Anyway, the tentative order of upcoming books are:
- Zane's book (untitled)
- Maybe Cal
- A new Rebel who's been traded to the team, tentatively titled More than Enough
- A military romance novel
So, I've got a good line up coming and am eager to work on ALL of those, but really focusing on Zane.
I’m still so freaking relieved to have something to share and as always, thankful y’all are sticking around and being patient with me.
Alright, that’s all I have for this month.
Until next time, happy reading.
